I Survived!

Yes, I survived the hectic weekend I was talking about in my last post. Barely.

I made it through all of the activities that were planned for this weekend and now I am so not ready to go back to work tomorrow. Friday's birthday party for Jacob was very nice. Yummy persian food too! Calista's baby shower on Saturday was alot of fun. I met Tammy (a co-worker) at her place and we went together. However, we almost got in quite the car accident on the way there. Some jackass decided he wanted to pull out and make a left as we were coming down the street. It's a good thing nobody was driving next to us or there would have been a serious accident. The guy would have been a pancake, and I probably would have gotten an airbag in the face. So, that shook us up a little bit. But, it was nice to see some of my co-workers out of the work place at the shower. We played some cute baby shower games, had some lunch and just sat around talking. Of course, conversation always leads back to work stuff. It's funny how that works out.

The Passover sedar on Saturday evening at Fromin's was the usual disgusting meal that it always is. Dry brisket and lots of senior citizens. It's weird...a few years ago, there were like 25 family members in our party. Last night there were about 14. It's sad that the family is breaking apart. My cousins don't really participate in anything with us anymore and there is just a lot of tension between certain people in my family. I know that next year there will probably be even fewer people, seeing as my uncle Murray has serious heart disease and won't go for an angiogram. I fear he won't be around much longer. It makes me sad.

After dinner, we went to my dad's place for about an hour, since we had to kill some time before we went to meet everyone at The Huntley Hotel for Devin's birthday get together. We got there at around 9:30 p.m. and met up with Jason & Alexis. We sat at the table they reserved and waited for everyone else to arrive. The place was actually really nice. It's the restaurant/ultra lounge called The Penthouse. Jamie Kennedy was there (big deal, right?). But the atmosphere was pretty cool. We were just so exhausted by that point, it was hard to stop myself from yawning all night long. We wound up leaving at around 12:30 a.m. and then headed home. I can't believe I used to stay out til 2:00 a.m. like 3 or 4 nights a week a few years ago. I have no idea how I did that. It's almost impossible for me to stay up until 10. I guess getting older will do that to you. At least that's what getting older does to me.

Today was a mellow day for me. I slept until 12:30 p.m., which I haven't done for quite a long time. But, I think I really needed the sleep. I went with Danny and his family to his cousin Jordon's house for a Passover sedar tonight. I found the afikoman and won $20. Heh...I'm such a kid. :-)
