Ok, so this morning, at around 5:00 a.m., I hear a helicopter buzzing around my bedroom window over and over again. I tried as hard as I could to ignore it...but at around 6:30, I couldn't take it anymore! I woke up and checked www.sigalert.com/ but there were no accidents to report. I then turned on the news to see if something bad happened and all they could talk about it the satellite thing that was coming in from Mars today, and 2 fat people getting married on a rollercoaster somewhere NOT in California. WTF???? I was furious by this point. All I wanted to do was sleep in on my Sunday morning. Anyway...at around 11:00, Danny called and told me that he heard what was going on. Apparently, there was a domestic disturbance across the street from my place and the guy had an AK47 that he was firing. But for some reason, that wasn't news worthy enough. I left my house at 11:30ish and the helicopter was gone, so I thought whatever happened was over. Nope. I pulled out of my driveway and there were about 15 cop cars and a SWAT truck parked in the middle of my street. I wasn't able to turn left to go to Topanga and they wouldn't let me go down to Shoup either. So I had to find an entirely different way outta there. Oh yea...did I mention that the freeway was closed too? Awesome. Once I was able to make it outta my neighborhood, I met Danny at the Cajun/Creole Festival in Simi Valley. We ate some mudbugs (aka crawdads) and some beneigts (not sure how to spell it). Danny tried fried alligator on a stick. It smelled like dirty feet. He didn't care much for it. He then tried the grilled alligator on a stick, which some guy told him was much better than the fried gator. Too bad they gave him the skewer with all fat balls and grisel. Didn't look very appetizing. He described it as fatty, nasty chicken that tasted like someone dropped it in a swamp.
Here is a picture of what he was eating. Thanks...but I think I'll pass:
Well...I am exhausted. Waking up at 6:30 is not really my idea of a fun day. I am gonna go to bed really early tonight. I think I may clean my house tomorrow, since I have the day off and Danny will be working.
