I hope you all had a great 4th of July. I know I most certainly did.
Let's see...it started out by getting off of work at noon on Thursday, which is always nice. I headed over to Danny's office and we went to lunch with my dad and uncle. Later that evening, Danny and I went to Morton's for dinner. Lemme just say, the Chicken Christopher was excellent, and I don't usually say that about chicken too often. I highly recommend ordering it.
Friday afternoon, we decided to be spontaneous and try a new restaurant - Hometown Buffet. I know, I know...why? I don't know what we were thinking, but it was the most disgusting place I have ever been to. So nasty! Never go there! Anyway, after that, we went to Danny's house for a BBQ with his family, which was really nice. Then we came home, picked up Teddy and walked to Warner Center Park to watch the fireworks show. Lemme just tell you, my dog was such a perfect little angel during the show - I was so proud of him. And the show was awesome too. I think we found our new 4th of July spot.
Saturday morning, Danny called and told me to pack a bag cause we were gonna drive up to Santa Barbara. We headed up there and had lunch at Santa Barbara Shellfish Company. I tried a rock crab, which wasn't that great and I cut my finger on the really thick shell. Danny had a dungeness crab, which was much better than mine. We drove around, looking for a place to stay, but soon realized that every place, including the motels, were like $300 a night. So, we decided to pass on that. We drove home and then went to visit my aunt in the hospital. After that, we headed on over to Lawry's for a yummy prime rib dinner.
On Sunday, we went to Costco, which is Danny's absolute favorite and bought a ton of fruit. Then we went to pick up a generator at some guys house, where he threw what looked like quite an amazing bar-mitzvah. After all that, we met Justin and his girlfriend Emily for dinner at Gyu Kaku in the Topanga mall. We haven't seen Justin for almost 2 years, so it was really good to see him. Dinner was great and I know that we had a really nice time.
And that was our weekend. Action packed and not a moment to spare. It was just what I needed.

Damn, you go out to eat a lot!
Which Hometown Buffet did you go to? The one at the Fallbrook Plaza/Mall is horrifically disgusting. My mother-in-law took us there one night when it first opened a few years ago. That was the first and last time for us!
Yep...it was the one at the Fallbrook Plaza. It was like eating in a soup kitchen with a bunch of dirty ass people.
