Being the holidays and all, we had quite a few holiday parties to go to, as well as a 30th birthday party, a wine and cheese party and an engagement party. Luckily, I took a few days off of work for vacation, so I dont go back to work until January 5th. I have been off since last Wednesday. It's so nice to have some time off to just be away from all the drama and annoyances in the office. Especially the pen clicker.

Did I mention I got a laptop for Hannukah? Danny bought it for me. So, I am typing this blog while laying in bed. Ahhhh....so nice =)

2009 is almost here. I am super optomistic that 2009 will be MUCH better than 2008. It certainly couldn't get much worse. So much drama has occured this year...I definitely am ready for things to take a change for the better. I think I deserve it too. Especially with everything I have put up with.

So, if I dont get a chance to update this blog before the new year, then HAPPY NEW YEAR to you all!! Be safe on NYE.

Back in Action

Jeesh! I have been without internet service for well over a week now. Last week, Time Warner had a problem and their service went down for a couple of days. When it came back on, my service still didn't work. Now, understand that I had this AOL/Time Warner arc thing going on, where I had to be signed onto AOL in order to connect to the internet (stupid, I know). I also couldn't ever use wi-fi, cause it wouldn't work due to the set up of the system. So, anyway...I decided to order DSL through AT&T on Thursday, since I was so frustrated with Time Warner going down. The earliest they could set it up was Tuesday (yesterday). Fine...whatever. So, I ordered it. I was able to get online on Friday night through my cable modem and I was just going to stay signed on until Tuesday, when my DSL became available.

Ugh...So, I wake up on Saturday and go into my office to check my email. Well, my stupid ass computer updated and restarted itself and I lost my connection once and for all. Needless to say, I was pissed. I basically have been using my phone to check my Facebook, Myspace and AOL email. Annoying.

I got my DSL modem on Monday and we set it up. The service was supposed to be activated by 8:00 p.m. last night. Well, guess what? It didn't work. Surprise, surprise. Deep down inside, I had a feeling it wouldn't work. I called tech support and they told me that they would need to send someone out today between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Ha! There is NO WAY I was going to take the day off of work to sit home and wait for them to get here. Besides the fact, I had a stack of overtime to do from last Thursday that needed to get done last night. I had to think fast.

I decided to call Time Warner and ask if the cable modem I had was compatable with their Road Runner service. They said it was, I told them to switch me over to Road Runner (with none of that stupid AOL shit involved) and by the time I got home from dinner, my internet was back! Phew! What a week. I didn't realize how dependent I had become on it. It's actually a little bit scary.

Long story short...I had no internet and now I do. :-)

Back from Sin City

Just got home from Vegas today. Danny and I went up on Thursday night, after work and stayed at the Palazzo (love it there). We happened to get something in the mail from the hotel for his birthday for 2-4 free nights, so we decided to go.

We checked in a little after midnight on Thursday and went to sleep. After all, we had been up and at work all day long. Some rest was necessary.

Friday morning we woke up and decided to walk to TI for breakfast. So much food, we couldn't even eat it all. That didn't stop us from hitting up Sheridan's Frozen Custard in Henderson for lunch. Then we decided to go to Red Rock Hotel and check it out. After getting lost, we finally made it there. We walked around the hotel and saw that they had a bowling alley. We decided to bowl a game. What a huge place - there were 60 lanes, PLUS a private VIP area for private parties. So big. Then Danny played a little blackjack, while I watched. Afterwards, we came back to our hotel and relaxed and got ready for dinner. We went to Michael Mina's Seablue Restaurant in MGM Grand. Very tasty. I had scallops with steamed spinach and chick pea rice, and Danny had some fish that I cant really pronounce or spell. It was Loup de Mare or something like that. Everything was really tasty. Afterwards, we met my mom at our hotel and Danny played some more blackjack. Then it was bed time.

Saturday morning was nice. We slept in past 7:00 a.m., which was nice. My mom picked us up from the hotel around 11:30 and we headed to this restaurant called Gardunos in The Palms. Once again that was another huge meal. While we were there, we saw that the Backstreet Boys were doing a show there at Pearl. So, Danny decided to ask if there were any tickets available - there were. He bought 2 tickets in a box on the side of the stage and they were pretty great seats. We came back to the hotel and watched The Strangers on Pay Per View. We cancelled our dinner reservations for that evening and had some italian food in the Venetian before the show. We headed over to The Palms and saw the concert. It was alot of fun. It's too bad Nick couldn't sing any of his parts though. He had the audience do the majority of his singing, which was a little annoying to me. But, whatever. It was still a good show. After we left The Palms, we came back to our hotel and decided to get some dessert at Grand Lux Cafe. I had a Candy Bar Pie and Danny had Boston Cream Pie. Oh my word...they were so good, but WAY too rich for a before bedtime snack.

This morning we met my mom at The Original Pancake House at Green Valley Ranch Hotel. Had some breakfast and then hit the road. Got home around 2:45 and I have been relaxing ever since. Now it's back to work tomorrow, but luckily its a very short week. Yay! Only 2 1/2 days of work and then its Turkey Day. I love Thanksgiving and this year we have 2 meals to go to. One at 3:00 and one at 6:00. I better bring some pants that expand in the waist. Hahaha.

Anyway, sorry for the lack of updates, but life has been hectic. I will try to update more often. If I don't get to update before next week, then I hope you all have a very Happy Thanksgiving.

Click, Click, Click....AHHHHHH!!!!!

So there's this guy who sits next to me at work, and all he does is click his pen ALL DAY LONG. It drives me up the wall. Today, I slammed my hand on my desk so hard that I almost broke it out of anger. You would think that me constantly turning around, giving him dirty looks would prompt him to stop. Nope...doesn't work. I swear, if the clicking doesn't stop soon, I can't promise that his pen won't be shoved into his ear. Grrrr...it's frustrating. And then apparently, someone said my radio is too loud. Well, its either the old hag who sits right in front of me, who has worked there for 3 whole weeks, or the douche with the pen who has also worked there for 3 whole weeks. I love how people come into the office and expect their superiors to change the way they work. Ain't gonna happen pal. I have 7 years seniority in that office and no old hag or dweeb with a pen is going to tell me that I can't listen to my radio. Did I mention that I can BARELY even hear the music? I have no idea how either one of them can possibly hear it either. It's baffling. I will win this one though...Oh yes, I will win.

Anyway...if you read about a girl going crazy in her office due to a clicking pen, it was probably me.

Damn Birds

I love birds, don't get me wrong. I have had many many many bird pets over the years. However, I am sick and tired of them committing suicide in my presence. For instance, earlier this year, as I was driving home, a bird decided that it would be a great idea to fly into the antennae of my car. I am assuming the bird died, as all I saw were feathers flying around when I looked in my rear view mirror. Secondly, about 6 months ago, Arik and I were driving back to work from lunch and a bird thought it would be fun to fly straight into my passenger side window and I think it broke its neck in the process. Once again, I only saw a flapping bird and some feathers in my rear view mirror. This has traumatized me. So, months later, I finally got over my fear of low flying birds while I am driving...until yesterday. While driving back from Rachel's graduation with Jesse's mom on the freeway, a bird flew into her antenna and died and then a car ran over it. Now, this is seriously a disturbing sight to witness...but to witness it THREE times in a period of a year is just sickening!

The best part of the story is the van that Carol and I drove by after this incident took place.

Can someone tell me why this is happening to me? In my 29 years of life, I have never experienced such weird happenings with birds. Oh yeah...did I mention that when I was in Vegas a few years ago, I was eating a bowl of cereal by the pool and a bird landed on my hand. Now, you tell me that I am not going completely crazy with all of this bird nonsense.

I Always Feel Like Somebody's Watching Me

Yes, I suck. I know. I neglect this blog terribly, but its for no other reason than the fact I am just really busy lately. Lots of stuff going on - some good, some bad...but I am trying to cope and that's about all I am going to say about that.

Last weekend, Danny and I went to see Wicked at the Pantages. We loved it, but I didnt care too much for the 2nd act. It didnt really go with the movie and the continuity. I know I shouldn't really disect it too much, but there were some parts that bothered me. But, the show was really great. On Sunday I did the Nuts for Mutts 5k Walk with Danny. The douchebag I was originally supposed to walk with flaked out on me (thank god), so Danny walked with me instead. I have to say, I am really glad, considering I dont think I could've held a 30 minute conversation with her, or even a 5 minute conversation at that. Anyway...We had fun and felt good about ourselves afterwards. Teddy walked the whole thing like a champ and we got a nice little goodie bag too. I raised $730 for the homeless animals and I couldn't be prouder. That will be the first and last time he goes with us anywhere like that. He was great in the car, but did not stop barking the entire night in the hotel. So, I am pretty exhausted right now.

Anyway...I hate that I dont update this blog more often, but I have a couple people who are checking up on everything I do. Stalkers would be a more appropriate term. So, I doubt I will be around much to update. We'll see.

Hope all is well with you all. :-)

You Can Do Magic...

Danny and I went to the World Magic Awards last night at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica. We went with some of my family and had amazing seats. We sat in the 5th row from the stage, and I was right on the aisle. The camera man was in my face the entire time! The show was great...we saw some amazing magic tricks and had a really good time. Neil Patrick Harris was hosting the show and was sat next to Corbin Bernson (the is the 2nd Saturday in a row that I have seen him) and Ernie Hudson (from Ghostbusters) was also next to us. We actually had a chance to meet Ernie after the show. He was really a genuinely nice guy. Tracy Bingham, the Miz, Melora Harden (Jan from the Office) and some other people were there.

After the show, we went to the after party. It was packed. However, something really sad happened which really killed the rest of the evening for Danny and me. His mom called and told him that their dog, Jake, passed away. I broke down in tears and we left about 10 minutes later. I was in no mood to mingle, take pictures with anyone or have anything to eat. So, we left.

Anyway...make sure you watch the World Magic Awards in December when it airs on TV. Not sure of the exact date...but I am pretty sure I will be on TV quite a few times :-)

They Call Him Flipper...Flipper...

Let's see...where shall I start? Hmmm...This week was extremely hectic for me. Besides being back at work after having an entire week off, I seemed to catch some sort of bug while on the cruise or in Mexico. Yup, thats right folks...Turista. Well, that's what I think it is anyway. Still waiting on the test results from the hospital, where I spent 3 lovely hours on Thursday evening after the USC game (so ridiculous, btw). So far, the test results have come back negative...but the final results wont be in until tomorrow. I just know that the pain I feel in my stomach is terrible and only happens when I eat something. Pretty crappy, eh?

Today we went to the Feast of San Gennaro in Hollywood. We went a couple years ago and had some pretty good food, so we decided to go back this year. The food was still good, but they didnt have some of the stuff I enjoyed the last time we went. But, it was nice. Then we went back to Agoura to have a BBQ with Danny's family. We watched the dolphin video from Mexico and I showed his family our vacation pictures. Oh! Here are some of the dolphin pics that I promised.

Anyway...Happy New Year to all my fellow Jews! =)

Back from the Cruise

Well, I am home from my 7 day cruise to Mexico. So much fun was had.

We arrived at San Pedro last Sunday at around 1:00 p.m. and waited in a bunch of different lines before we got on the boat. That sucked, but when we got on and went to our room, it was so exciting. We opened the door and our room was all decorated, compliments of my dad and step-mom and there were chocolate covered strawberries waiting there too. We were pretty hungry, so we went to the buffet. Blech. Not good. I mean, I had a salad, which was fine...but Danny did not enjoy the selection of food at all. That was the first and last time we ate at the buffet. That night we went to our first dinner in the dining room and met our waiter, Vichai and our assistant waiter, Faustino. Vichai barely spoke a lick of english, but he was very nice. Our head-water, Marliza was awesome. She made our dining experience over the 7 days bearable.

Monday we were at sea. We wanted to lay out by the pool, but it was very cold and windy for most of the day. The weather cleared up a bit around 3:30 p.m., but we were getting ready for our first formal night, which was the Captain's Dinner, so we only spent about 45 minutes at the pool. The Captain's Dinner was nice. We didnt go to the reception beforehand though. After that, we went to see a show on the boat called Rhythm and Rhyme. It was people singing and dancing to Broadway showtunes. Pretty entertaining. Oh, did I mention that Danny won the Blackjack tournament?

Tuesday we arrived in Cabo San Lucas. The weather was gorgeous. A tad humid, but gorgeous. We took a cab to The Office, which is a bar/restaurant on the beach. To our dismay, it was not there. They were remodeling it, so it wont be open til next month. So we ate next door at Mango Deck. We sat and enjoyed looking at the bright blue ocean and ate some tacos. Then we decided to walk down the beach to Pueblo Bonito Rose, which is the resort where my grandparents own a timeshare. Once we got there, Danny wanted to lay by the pool, which is awesome. We went inside and asked the front desk clerk if it would be ok, so he gave us some pool towel cards and we were set. We layed out, drank some fruity drinks and got some sun. After that, we headed back to the boat.

Wednesday we hit Mazatlan. Now, I apologize if any of you like Mazatlan, but I dont care much for it. Its dirty and not my kind of place. Danny didnt care much for it either. Anyway, we paid a driver to take us on a tour of the city, along with a few other couples. We met a really nice couple from Ohio - Bob & Kathy. They were older, in their 60's, but so much fun to hang out with. We saw the sighs, and then our driver took us to this great restaurat that I ate at with my family a few years back called La Costa Marinera. The best shrimp ever! Then we went to Senor Frogs to check it out. After that, we went back to the boat.

On Thursday we got to Puerto Vallarta. We needed to be off of the ship at 7:15 so we could meet our group for the Dolphin Swim. The bus took us to the water park, where they had like 12 different water slides and the dolphin pool. We swam around with them, got a belly ride and a boogie push. So much fun. I loved every minute of it. As soon as Danny scans the pictures, I will post them. After we left the water park, we went back to the ship to change out of our wet bathing suits and got off the ship again. We looked around for an authentic mexican restaurant that wasnt full of tourists and we found one. It was called La Candora. Very good food. We had 2 drinks, 2 orders of carne asada and an order of beans and the whole meal was $13.00. Pretty good deal, eh? After we ate, we headed back to the ship and had a couple's hot stone massage in the spa. Wow...I loved that. It felt soooo good.

Friday was another day at sea. I woke up with a weird rash on my neck and chest, so I went to the infermary and got some Benedryl. It didnt work. But, whatever. We layed out by the pool for a couple hours and got some sun. After that, we headed back to the room and relaxed for a bit. We had our second formal night at dinner and ate lobster. Not much else exciting happened that day.

Saturday was our last full day at sea. We went for a couple's massage in the morning, which was also amazing. We went to do TV Tune Trivia, which we won. Its kind of sad that I knew the theme song to Gidget, My Two Dads and a few other shows that no one else watches. But, we came in first place! Hahaha. Then we went to watch Karaoke Superstar, which was a little lame. Some of the people were awesome, but others were not so good. Then we had our very last dinner in the dining room. The waiters sang a song and we handed out our tip envelopes and then went to the room to pack.

This morning we woke up early and had some breakfast. We then waited around like 2 schmucks for 2 hours trying to get off the ship. Silly us...we signed up for the express departure which ensured us that we would be off of the boat by 8:00 a.m. By 8:30, we were still in line, trying to get off of the boat. I wasnt happy about that at all. In fact, I believe I will be writing a letter to the CEO of Royal Caribbean.

Anyway...the cruise was a blast for the most part. We had a great time, despite a few little bumps in the road. However, I think after comparing RC to Carnival, I will be cruising with Carnival in the future. Maybe when I am 90 years old, I will go back to cruising with RC.

Oh yea...and I only gained 3 pounds the entire week. I thought for sure that I was gonna gain at least 5 or 6 pounds. Woo hoo!

1 Day til Embarkation!!!

Well, the time has almost come for my long awaited cruise. Yes, I leave on Sunday for 7 fabulous days aboard the Vision of the Seas ship to the Mexican Riviera. But first, we are going to the USC vs. Ohio State football game tomorrow evening. A friend of my aunt gets us tickets for the hard games every year, so thanks to him, we can enjoy the game in person. It's so nice to be well connected =)

Yea, so anyway...back to the cruise. The boat leaves San Pedro at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday. We are at sea on Monday and then hit Cabo San Lucas on Tuesday. Wednesday is Mazatlan and Thursday is Puerto Vallarta, where we will be swimming with the dolphins. Pictures will most definitely be posted. Friday and Saturday we are at sea and then we come home on Sunday at 7:00 a.m. I am beyond excited to get away from all the drama and crap for a week. Not to mention, this is the first REAL vacation that Danny and I have taken since we started dating over 3 years ago. I just cant wait.

I will try and update the blog from the ship, as they offer Wifi...but no promises. It is a 5K walk around the beautiful hills of Pierce College. Each donation I bring in helps raise funds for homeless pets and supports New Leash On Life's Education, Rehabilitation and Adoption programs, as well as their Lend a Paw program. The Lend a Paw program is designed to rescue dogs from the shelter and train them to be Social/Therapy dogs, visiting schools, hospitals and care centers in order to provide love, healing and acceptance for those in need. I am asking for your support for this worthy cause. Any contribution you can make would be great appreciated.
Please click on the link below to sponsor me in this walk.
https://www.nutsformutts.com/walk2008/walker.asp?walker=DanielleFreeman

About the Walk
The walk is 5k, which means I'll be walking 3.1 miles for our canine friends, through the beautiful hills of Pierce College. Cause I really think thats what happened last night.

Danny, Jessi, Adam and I went to Fogo de Chao, which is a brazilian restaurant in Beverly Hills for my birthday. Now, if you've never been to a place like this, its quite interesting. Luckily, we prepared ourselves from past experiences there. The moment you sit down, the meat arrives. Men with swords, wearing gaucho pants, walk around carving away til you flip your little coaster over to the red side. Green means MORE, red means STOP. Needless to say, even when its on red, they still try to tempt you with their meat. Hah. I believe they have 15 different types of meat there, ranging from pork, to chicken, to beef, to lamb. Its just insanity. So yea...about 15 minutes into the meal, my poor little tummy went into shock. I was already full. Did I mention that they bring you fried bananas, mashed potatoes, fried polenta sticks and cheese rolls on top of all the meat? No? Well, they do. PLUS, there is a ginormous salad bar with cheeses, breads, salads, veggies, etc...Its just more food than anyone has the right to eat.

Needless to say, we stayed at our table for almost 3 hours. Danny and Adam enjoyed Round 2 of the meat, while Jessi and I sat there trying to digest our food.

Then we had dessert. There are 15 choices of dessert as well. Must be their magic number. I had vanilla ice cream, Danny had creme brulee, and Jessi & Adam had tres leches.

The meal was great. The company was even better, and I am so glad that I spent my birthday the way I did last night. It was perfect.

Now, USC better win the damn game today!! =)

What a Bore!

I have come to the conclusion that my life really isn't all that interesting. I have been reading my past blog entries and there is nothing there that even I care about reading, let alone anyone else reading. I guess I just live a very boring life.

I mean, sure...I have drama to deal with every day at work, but I choose not to blog about it. However, I will say that people who dig their own graves should really not expect people to be nice to them. If you're a prick to people, expect to be shunned. That's all I'm gonna say about that one.

I feel like I am at the point in my life where I need to remove all of the toxic people. I will turn 29 on Friday and I really just think that as of that day, I am going to make some decisions that may not make some people happy, but I am doing it for my own wellbeing and happiness. Life is too short to be pissed off all the time. So, I choose to eliminate the people who piss me off. I speak mostly of people at work.

Anyway, we're going on our cruise in a couple of weeks and I really think that's just what the doctor ordered. I just need to get away from it all.

I don't know why I am feeling this way, but damnit, it's just how I feel.

Gross

Ok...so I am watching Ripley's Believe It or Not! and they have some seriously sick people on this show. Well, thats basically what I had last night. Danny and I went to Riviera in Calabasas and had such a great meal. Mmmm....I wish I could go have it again right now. I would seriously recommend trying this place sometime. You wont be disappointed - we never are.

Today we're taking a trip to the USC Bookstore to buy some new gear for the upcoming football season which starts next weekend. Yay! I am excited. I saw a black Mark Sanchez jersey that I really wanna get. I know...black isnt one of their colors - but I already have a cardinal jersey. So, since they dont give girls the option of buying the white jerseys, I'll take black. Besides, it's slimming. Hahaha =)

After our venture to the bookstore, we're gonna head back out to the valley and go to the Starship concert in the park. I have really been looking forward to this show all summer. So, I am stoked that it is finally here. Yes, I really enjoy Starship's music.

Other than that, yesterday was my mom's birthday. It's sad, because she is all alone in Henderson, with no family. I wish we could've gone out there to celebrate with her or flew her in so she could have celebrated here with us. At least I will see her in a couple of weeks when we go to my cousin's wedding in Vegas.

My dad left for the Galapagos Islands the other day. I miss him too. I really wish both my parents could be here this coming week...Here's to wishful thinking.

Such a Dork

So, I'm officially a dork and have seen every single episode of 90210. I have been recording 2 episodes per day from the Soap Network since January and it has taken me 8 1/2 months to go from beginning to end. Yesterday they played the final episode where Donna & David get married and then they had The Final Goodbye episode. Now I can watch the 90210 v2.0 when it starts next month and feel like I haven't missing out on anything. Geez, I am such a nerd. Hahaha.

Oh yeah...and the premiere of The Hills kinda sucked last night.

BTW...If you're a Starship fan...they are having a concert in the park this weekend by my house. It's at Warner Park on Topanga. Should be fun. I know a few people who will be going to that. And I am getting my hair done on Saturday, so this weekend should be nice.

Next week is the dreaded birthday week. Dun dun dun dun....But I am gonna go have a nice lunch with my co-workers on Thursday to celebrate and then have dinner with my grandparents that night. The night after is Fogo and I am not quite sure whats gonna take place on Saturday night. Maybe some bowling? We'll see.

Before I forget - did anyone watch the Bob Saget Roast on Comedy Central the other night? I thought it was hilarious...with the exception of Norm McDonald, who happens to be the least funny "comedian" I have ever seen. I was literally embarrased for him. Everyone else was great though. Who knew Chloris Leachman was so raunchy? Not I. If you missed it, try and catch it one of the 1,000 times they will re-run it. In fact, I think its on again right now. Go...watch!

27 Days to Go!

Yes, that's right...only 27 more days til we leave for our cruise. Can you tell I am getting excited? I am so pathetic, I made a little calendar at work with the countdown on it. Hahaha...Oh well. It gives me something to look forward to. However, before we leave for our cruise, we are going to Vegas the weekend before that for my cousin's wedding. We have our hotel booked and we are all set to go. We're staying at The Hotel at Mandalay Bay. I've never stayed there bef0re; I have only stayed at the regular Mandalay Bay hotel. So, it should be fun to try a new place.

Let's see...my birthday is next Friday. I will be 29 on the 29th. I almost sorta wish that this birthday would just come and go very fast. I actually would just love it if August would end already. But anyway...Danny and I are gonna go to dinner with my best friend Jessi and her husband Adam on my birthday to Fogo de Chao. I love that place and the people I will be with, so I am thinking it will be nice evening. Other than that, no real plans. I am not having a party this year, cause frankly, last year sucked. I would much rather do something low key. Not to mention my entire family will be on different vacation. So, ya know. Having a birthday during Labor Day weekend isn't much fun.

Anyway, we saw Tropic Thunder the other night. I have to say, I didn't care much for it. The first few minutes were really funny and then it slowly got really boring. I usually don't check my phone to see what time it is during a movie I enjoy. However, I found myself checking my phone at least 3 times throughout the course of the movie. But, I am glad I saw it.

Oh! Did I mention I am down 5.5 pounds? I am proud of myself. Only 6.5 to go. I highly doubt I will reach this goal by September 14th, but if I can lose just 3 more pounds by then, I will be so happy. No pressure or anything. Haha.

M.I.A.

The weekend is over and tomorrow is back to reality. Yeah...it sucks. However, I did happen to get our cruise tickets in the mail the other day, which made me very happy. It's so real now. We're finally going on a vacation together all by ourselves for no other reason that just going away together. No wedding, no birthday, no family obligations...NOTHING! We're simply on our own schedule with no other agenda. I can't wait.

Anyway...we saw Pineapple Express on Friday night. It was really funny. I wasn't sure if I was going to like it or not, cause the commercials didn't really do it justice. But, it was pretty damn funny.

Last night we went to dinner with Ryan & Suzanne at Anisette Brasserie in Santa Monica. I know that everyone at the table really enjoyed their meal. I am still dieting, so I didn't enjoy it as much as I could've, but what I had was still really tasty. Tom Hanks was having dinner there too. So, how bad could it be, right?

Oh yea, I joined Twitter. If you look to the right you can see my Twitter update thing. I got bored, what can I say.

Just a Quickie

Just wanted to post a quick blog, since it's been quite a while. I haven't really had much to talk about lately...nothing too special going on right now.

We had an earthquake yesterday, which tested my nerves a bit. Usually I am asleep during these things, not walking around Whole Foods buying my lunch. The items falling off of the shelf made me a little nervous, but what better place to get stuck during an earthquake, right? God forbid we were trapped there, we'd have food to last us a very long time. I am just glad everyone is ok.

On another note, I have been dieting very strictly for the past week and a half. The diet I was doing for the past 2 months was not showing me any results except for weight gain. So, I decided to step it up a notch. I have been riding my exercise bike at least 2 miles every night when I get home from work and I have been staying away from most carbs. I do eat brown rice alot, but I don't feel guilty about that. So far, I am down 4.3 pounds. I have just a little over 8 pounds to go. If I dont get this weight off before our cruise in September, I know that I wont be able to enjoy myself. Considering I gained almost 10 pounds on the last cruise I took, I cannot let that happen to me again - especially at my current weight.

Aside from that, there isn't really much else to tell. Sorry for the lack of updates...but I haven't had it in me lately. I'll try harder, I promise =)

The Week in Review

Sorry for the lack of posts...but I have been really busy this week and/or too tired to sit and write a blog. I have been doing lots of overtime from home and it's draining me.

Nothing too interesting happened this week, except for the charity event that Danny and I went to on Wednesday night. His company donated a generator to this Golden Age of Hollywood fundraiser thing, so they gave us 2 tickets to attend. It was at the Park Plaza Hotel and was really nice. There was a silent auction, dinner, dancing, a live auction and an awards presentation. We stuck around for most of it, but decided to leave at around 10:00, since we both needed to be up for work the next morning. Here are a couple pics of the night:

Last night we went to visit my aunt in the hospital (yes, she is still there). They moved her to the rehab facility, so she can learn how to walk again. I guess being stuck in bed for over a month can kinda mess up your walking skills. Anyway, we brought her a cake and a balloon for her birthday, which is today. However, since we already have a prior engagement tonight, we decided to spend last night with her. I think she really enjoyed it.

Today I am going shopping for swimsuits with my step-mom and then to lunch. Should be fun. When I get back, I plan on laying by the pool for a bit to get my tan a little evened out and since I am peeling like a lizard now, I need to darken up a bit. And then tonight we're going to Rachel and Jesse's engagement party. Should be a good time.

As for tomorrow, I think we're gonna try and see The Dark Knight, if its not already totally sold out. We'll see. Worst case scenario - we'll see Mamma Mia tomorrow and The Dark Knight next weekend. I'm not too worried about it.

Weekend Getaway...And a Bad Sunburn

Danny and I took a little trip up to Paso Robles yesterday to visit Rachel & Jesse. If you've never heard of Paso Robles, its about 25-30 minutes past San Luis Obispo. Anyway, we hopped in the car at around 7:00 a.m. and got up there by 9:30. What a beautiful drive! It was gorgeous.

Once we arrived, we took a tour of Rachel & Jesse's new house. So cute. I loved it. Then we went to breakfast at Margie's Diner. The food was ok...but the flies were annoying. After breakfast, we went to the town square, which is kind of like the place in Back to the Future. Really cute and quaint. There was a tiny little farmer's market that we went to and they had the BEST strawberries I have ever had. Thinking back, I really should've bought some. Oh well. Maybe next time. Then we then headed back to the house to get into our swimsuits. The boys went to the market to pick up some BBQ stuff and I went to the pool with Rach. We layed out, talked, went swimming, relaxed, etc...The boys came back and they BBQ'd some hamburgers.

Now, mind you...we had been already sitting out by the pool for about an hour or so by the time they had gotten back. We didn't really think much of it. Dumb dumb dumb. When we got back to the house, Rachel & I realized that we were pretty f'ing sunburnt. Awesome. We got dressed, went to dinner at this place called Enoteco. Delicious food. I had scallops over ricotta gnocchi. Mmmmmm...I loved it.

By the time we finished dinner, we were all pretty much pooped out. But, we still made a little pit stop at Coldstone for Danny & Jesse to get some ice cream. Then we went back to the house to crash.

This morning we woke up and headed down to Pismo Beach. Can I just say that I love it there? I would totally live there if I could. We wanted to have some clam chowder, but it was only 9:30, so we opted for breakfast. We walked around and the boys walked down the pier while Rach and I went to look at clothes in the shops. Once we finished with all of that, Danny and I headed back home. Did I mention that I have a really ridiculous looking sunburn? Its like my whole chest is bright red and only half of my neck and face got sunburnt. WTF? I have no idea how that is even possible. I hope I can even it out, eventually.

Another really nice weekend. We should really start making a habit of this. :-)

The Perfect 4th of July Weekend

I hope you all had a great 4th of July. I know I most certainly did.

Let's see...it started out by getting off of work at noon on Thursday, which is always nice. I headed over to Danny's office and we went to lunch with my dad and uncle. Later that evening, Danny and I went to Morton's for dinner. Lemme just say, the Chicken Christopher was excellent, and I don't usually say that about chicken too often. I highly recommend ordering it.

Friday afternoon, we decided to be spontaneous and try a new restaurant - Hometown Buffet. I know, I know...why? I don't know what we were thinking, but it was the most disgusting place I have ever been to. So nasty! Never go there! Anyway, after that, we went to Danny's house for a BBQ with his family, which was really nice. Then we came home, picked up Teddy and walked to Warner Center Park to watch the fireworks show. Lemme just tell you, my dog was such a perfect little angel during the show - I was so proud of him. And the show was awesome too. I think we found our new 4th of July spot.

Saturday morning, Danny called and told me to pack a bag cause we were gonna drive up to Santa Barbara. We headed up there and had lunch at Santa Barbara Shellfish Company. I tried a rock crab, which wasn't that great and I cut my finger on the really thick shell. Danny had a dungeness crab, which was much better than mine. We drove around, looking for a place to stay, but soon realized that every place, including the motels, were like $300 a night. So, we decided to pass on that. We drove home and then went to visit my aunt in the hospital. After that, we headed on over to Lawry's for a yummy prime rib dinner.

On Sunday, we went to Costco, which is Danny's absolute favorite and bought a ton of fruit. Then we went to pick up a generator at some guys house, where he threw what looked like quite an amazing bar-mitzvah. After all that, we met Justin and his girlfriend Emily for dinner at Gyu Kaku in the Topanga mall. We haven't seen Justin for almost 2 years, so it was really good to see him. Dinner was great and I know that we had a really nice time.

And that was our weekend. Action packed and not a moment to spare. It was just what I needed.

Ugh, I'm Exhausted!

I haven't been sleeping very well lately. For some reason, I wake up every morning at 2:30 a.m., toss and turn, fall back asleep, wake up at 4:30 and then fall back asleep until my alarm goes off. When I wake up, my body is really sore, almost like I have been sleeping in a funny position. It's a vicious cycle and it's starting to take it's toll on me. I could barely keep my eyes open today while at work and I am barely able to keep them open right now. So, why am I updating this blog, you ask? I dunno. Just felt like updating it.

However, I am very happy that our office is closing at noon tomorrow. Yay! And then we have a nice 3 day weekend to look forward to for 4th of July. Still not sure what the definite plans are...I just really want to see fireworks this year. We didn't get to see them last year, so I don't wanna miss them again.

I really have no other exciting plans for the weekend. I am hoping that we will have a chance to go to the movies and see The Hulk or The Happening. I have been wanting to see those movies for a couple of weeks, but with Danny's crazy work schedule, it's been hard. All I know is that I really need this long weekend to rejuvinate.

Anyway, I hope you all have a very Happy and Safe 4th of July!

Just Like a Banana

Damnit...I have 3 bruises on my body, all in very obvious places and they HURT! I got one on the back of my left arm from banging into the filing cabinet at work on Monday morning. By Tuesday, it was dark purple. Then I banged my left knee into a chair at work on Monday during lunch, and there is a bruise there now too. And tonight, I happened to see the back of my leg and there is a HUGE purple bruise on the back of my right thigh. WTF?!?! I know I am anemic, but this is ridiculous. How can someone bruise so easily? I feel like a piece of fruit.

That's all. Just had to vent. Carry on with your lives.

That's Assistant Stage Hostess to You

Last night were the 34th Annual Saturn Awards, held at the Universal Hilton. This was my 2nd year working the event as the Assistant Stage Hostess. Unfortunately, I wasn't bumped up to main stage hostess this year. Maybe next year perhaps? We'll see.

Anyway, we arrived at the hotel at 4:00 p.m. and walked around, looking at the ballroom that was all set up for the show. We had a little nosh, cause it was gonna be a long day ahead of us and then went to rehearsal. The show started at around 8:15 and ended at almost 11:00 p.m. I was pooped out by that point, so I didn't go to the after party. Oh well. I also didn't get any pictures with any celebs either, but that's ok. I still got to meet a few of them. Let's see...who was there: Jennifer Love Hewitt, John Voight, Lindsay Wagner, Dolph Lundgren, Adrian Pasdar, William Ragsdale, some of the cast of Cloverfield and Jericho, etc...Lots of familiar faces, but I didn't even know their names. It was fun though.

At one point, Jeffrey Ross, the host of the show, called Valerie (the main stage hostess) and myself up on stage. He told everyone to give us a round of applause and then proceeded to tell the entire audience how Valerie looked like a hooker from Battlestar Galactica. I am so glad he didn't say anything bad about me. Phew! But, I knew it was all in good fun and I hope she didn't take offense to what he said.

All in all, the evening was a lot of fun and I would gladly do it again for a 3rd year, if asked. Below are some pictures for your viewing entertainment:

I'm Going Going, Back Back to Saturn Saturn

Hahah...Pretend I was singing the Notorious BIG song when you read the headline to this blog. =)

Tomorrow night is the Saturn Awards. I was the assistant stage hostess last year, but I have NO idea what my task will be tomorrow night. However, I am very excited to be a part of the show again this year.

My day will begin with a hair appt at noon, followed by a make-up session with my best friend Jessi, who is a make-up artist. I need to be at the Universal Hilton at 4:00 p.m. tomorrow afternoon and the show will begin at 8:00 and go until 10:00. After the show, Esmeralda and I will head to the after party at City Walk. We are the only 2 people left from the group of 4 girls who are still going to be working at the show.

Last year I got to meet a few of the cast members from Heroes, the Office, and a few other shows I really like. I am really excited to see who will be making an appearance this year. Gerard Butler is nominated for an award or two, so I am crossing my fingers that he will be there (it's doubtful though).

I am hoping to get some good pictures after the show, since cameras are a no no this year before the it starts. Anyway...if I get any good ones, I will most definitely post them on here.

BTW, I wanna wish a Happy Birthday to my little brother, Evan, who turned 26 today. HAPPY BIRTHDAY EVAN!

On Call

It sucks being on call for jury duty all week. You can't really make any plans, because you have no idea what your day is gonna have in store for you until you call in the night before to see if you need to report to the courthouse the next day. Luckily, I haven't had to go in yet (crossing my fingers). But, we'll see. I have 2 days to go.

Let's see...aside from my stint as an on-call juror this week, we are leaving for Vegas on Saturday morning. We're staying at the Palazzo, which I am really looking forward to. The rooms look beautiful. I definitely did not want to stay at the Wynn again after our past 2 lousy experiences there. We'll be coming home Sunday afternoon after we have breakfast with my mom.

The Saturn Awards are a week from today. I am very excited to be a part of them again this year. I had a great time last year. I just hope I don't look too fat in my dress. I bought a pair of shoes tonight to go with it. They are silver and they cost $27 at Windsor. Who needs expensive shoes for one night, right?

Happy Daddy's Day

First, let me wish all of the dads a Happy Father's Day. I hope your day was nice =)

Today was non-stop all day for me. I met my dad, step-mom and grandma for lunch at the Hamlet in West LA at noon. They didn't have our reservation in the book that I made 2 weeks ago, but that's ok...they sat us anyway. We finished lunch at around 1:30 and then we had to stand around and wait for my uncle to drop off my aunt at the restaurant to go with my grandma somewhere. After lunch, we dropped off my step-mom and then I went with my dad to Pottery Barn on 3rd Street in Santa Monica. He had to return a chair and pick up a new one.

After Pottery Barn, we headed over to Cedars Sinai to visit my aunt who has been in the hospital since Wednesday. She has a very rare disease called Pityriasis Rubra Pilaris and she is VERY sick right now. They found a blood clot in her leg today and now she is on a blood thinner for that. The only reason they actually admitted her into the hospital is because her blood sugar level was up to 480 and it should be like under 100. Sooooo, that was a bad sign. Anyway, we sat at the hospital for a couple of hours to keep her company. I feel so bad for her. She is in such a terrible amount of pain. It's actually really hard to see her like this.

Once we left the hospital, my dad dropped me off at my car and then I drove out to Agoura to see Danny. Needless to say, I am exhausted. I haven't been home since 11:00 a.m. and I am just pooped out right now. I know it doesn't sound like I did much, but it definitely took a lot out of me. This whole weekend has pretty much knocked me on my ass, especially when we went to Victorville yesterday to the Huck Finn Bluegrass Festival. Danny's company has a bunch of generators powering it and we needed to go do some stuff there. Well, lemme tell you that the people there were so incredibly rude. Not to mention, they all were like Ozark mountain people (i.e. missing teeth, limbs, and they were super dirty). I felt like I was in The Hills Have Eyes 3. Very un-appetizing crowd. I'd imagine that's what it would be like if I was in redneck hell. Oh yea...and I especially loved seeing the confederate flags flying around (I hope you can detect the sarcasm). I don't think you could pay me to go back there.

Dieting

I hate dieting...BUT, I have to do this in order to refrain from looking like a pot bellied pig. You see, when I gain weight, it all goes directly to my ass, thighs and lower stomach (aka the pooch). This is not something I like. Especially when my clothes do not fit me anymore...that's when I know it is time to start watching what goes into my mouth very carefully.

So, for the past 2 weeks, I have been living on salads, chicken, salads and chicken. Blech. I am so sick of salads and chicken. However, I did manage to have whole wheat pasta yesterday for lunch which was pretty damn tasty. Maybe it was because I haven't had pasta for such a long time that it tasted so good. And I didn't feel THAT guilty about eating it either.

Anyway, for the past 2 weeks, I wasn't losing any weight. Not even half a pound. Finally when I would lose that 1/2 a pound, it would show up the next morning again. I was very frustrated. So, I felt the need to step up the game a bit and did something I will not go into detail about (no, no...it's not throwing up or anything ridiculous like that). It's just a bit of a cleanse - gross, I know. I'll spare you the details.

When I got on the scale this morning, I almost did a jig of glee. I have lost 2.5 pounds thus far and my pooch is starting to flatten out a bit. I only need to lose about 7.5 more pounds and I will be a very happy camper.

Oh yeah, one more thing...NEVER EVER tell a girl that she looks fat or has a big butt, or that she has a pooch. Some guy in my office told me I had a pooch a few weeks ago and it really stung. Especially considering that I am VERY well aware of what my body looks like. Nobody needs to have it pointed out to them.

$5.01? It was pretty funny. Very stupid...but funny. And then we saw Sex & the City on Saturday night. I didn't realize it was going to be so sad. It was very good though. We went to the 21+ screening at Arclight in Sherman Oaks. It was nice, cause it's in a seperate theatre in the bar area and they give you wristbands so you can bring alcohol into the movie. I opted not to drink, as usual :-)

Yesterday we went to the Americana in Glendale...It's like the Grove on steroids. Very nice place. Lots of cool stores opening soon. I would suggest giving it a try if you're in the mood to walk around on a nice day. Bring the dog along too. I saw a few people with pets there.

And really, that's all I have at the moment. We're going to Vegas in a couple of weeks for the night. Should be fun. I need a tan badly! The Saturn Awards are 2 days after we get home from Vegas and that is something I am very much looking forward to. I am trying to shed a few pounds so I don't look so dumpy in my dress. Hopefully the cruise will be here soon. I need this vacation, badly!!

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://danidewdrop.blogspot.com/2008/06/501-good-lord-thats-alot-of-money.html' title='$5.01? The show was pretty funny, except he talks REALLY fast and I had a hard time understanding some of the stuff he was saying. His accent is also pretty thick, so that didn't make it any easier. The show lasted almost 2 hours, which is long for a comedy show.

Anyway, after the show, we waited around to take a picture with him. He said that he would be back down in around 20 minutes. About 30 minutes later, he comes down and takes pictures with about 3 people who had been waiting and then goes off to the VIP section to schmooze with Courtney "I have had WAY too many facelifts" Love and the bigwigs who were sitting there. Now, he said he would be back "in a minute." Maybe 30 minutes later he finally came back out to the pee-ons and took more pictures and signed autographs. Now, am I nuts for thinking that this was a total dick move on his part? He seems like a nice guy, but you really shouldn't leave your fans standing around while you talk to people in the VIP section. It just didn't seem right. Well, after he finally came back out, I was the first person to get a picture with him and then we left. After all, we were exhausted. And since it was almost 11:00 p.m. and we both had to go to work this morning, it was time to leave.

All in all, the show was fun. However, someone should teach these people how to treat their fans. That's all I'm sayin. Below are some pictures I took. I'll even post one of Courtney Love (try not to puke).

TGIF!

Oh, how I love the weekends. It's so nice to be able to sit around and relax, sleep in, watch TV or go out and do something fun. Tonight will probably be my "mellow" evening, since Danny is working a little late. Tomorrow night is my grandma's 84th birthday dinner and then Sunday night is our Russell Brand comedy show at the Roxy. I am really excited to go to that. I hope it's funny =)

At some point this weekend I would love to see Sex and the City. A friend saw it last night at midnight and she really liked it. I hope I get a chance to see it soon.

This week kind of dragged a little ass. Even though we worked a 4 day week, it still seemed to go by pretty slow. Although, yesterday a few of us from the office were invited to a BBQ at our office supplier's new warehouse. They had a bunch of vendors from all different office supply places giving out free samples. I have about 40 new pens and like 10 new highlighters. They had Outdoor Grill cater it, which was SO good. I had tri-tip, caesar salad, garlic bread and some Costco chocolate cake. It was so much better than sitting at work. They also had a drawing for a couple iPods and a flat screen TV. I don't think I won, seeing as I haven't heard anything yet.

One last note...has anyone noticed how expensive the gas is at Thrifty gas stations? The one by my house is $4.44 a gallon for 87. Chevron and Shell aren't even that expensive. The other few Thrifty's I have seen are ridiculously priced too. They should be ashamed of themsevles! I think I will stick to Arco for $4.05 a gallon, thank you very much.

Lazy Day

I have had a very relaxing day. I did some laundry, cleaned out the refrigerator, took a nap, played on the comptuer, watched a Diff'rent Strokes marathon on BET, had some dinner, and now I am back on the computer. I didn't do as much cleaning as I had planned on doing, but at least I got some of the laundry done and the kitchen cleaned up a bit.

Tomorrow, back to the real world. I actually don't mind going to work sometimes. I guess it makes the day go by much faster than just sitting around the house. Don't get me wrong, I do love having vacation days from work...but when I have no plans, it's kinda boring.

So, anyway...that's all. I tried as hard as I could to ignore it...but at around 6:30, I couldn't take it anymore! I woke up and checked www.sigalert.com/ but there were no accidents to report. I then turned on the news to see if something bad happened and all they could talk about it the satellite thing that was coming in from Mars today, and 2 fat people getting married on a rollercoaster somewhere NOT in California. WTF???? I was furious by this point. All I wanted to do was sleep in on my Sunday morning. Anyway...at around 11:00, Danny called and told me that he heard what was going on. Apparently, there was a domestic disturbance across the street from my place and the guy had an AK47 that he was firing. But for some reason, that wasn't news worthy enough. I left my house at 11:30ish and the helicopter was gone, so I thought whatever happened was over. Nope. I pulled out of my driveway and there were about 15 cop cars and a SWAT truck parked in the middle of my street. I wasn't able to turn left to go to Topanga and they wouldn't let me go down to Shoup either. So I had to find an entirely different way outta there. Oh yea...did I mention that the freeway was closed too? Awesome.

Once I was able to make it outta my neighborhood, I met Danny at the Cajun/Creole Festival in Simi Valley. We ate some mudbugs (aka crawdads) and some beneigts (not sure how to spell it). Danny tried fried alligator on a stick. It smelled like dirty feet. He didn't care much for it. He then tried the grilled alligator on a stick, which some guy told him was much better than the fried gator. Too bad they gave him the skewer with all fat balls and grisel. Didn't look very appetizing. He described it as fatty, nasty chicken that tasted like someone dropped it in a swamp.

Here is a picture of what he was eating. Thanks...but I think I'll pass:

Well...I am exhausted. Waking up at 6:30 is not really my idea of a fun day. I am gonna go to bed really early tonight. I think I may clean my house tomorrow, since I have the day off and Danny will be working.

Not a Fan

Danny and I saw Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull today at Arclight Sherman Oaks. We went to the 3:46 showing. Yes, that's right...3:46. They had some wacky ass times that the movie started. Of course, it was playing in 7 of the auditoriums there. Anyway...I really didn't care much for it, which pisses me of. I was really looking forward to seeing this movie and it just totally let me down. Now, of course, Shia was great...but the movie was lacking something. It was actually kind of boring. Not to mention, I sat next to some woman who wouldn't shut her trap the whole 2 hours. She kept talking, talking, talking, talking...and then she pulled out some kind of sandwich, which smelled like someone died in her purse. Oh yea...did I mention that her and her husband kept opening cans of soda that they snuck into the theater as well? It always happens that I wind up sitting next to the most obnoxious person in the ENTIRE auditorium. Never fails.

Sex & the City opens next weekend. I really am excited to see that one. I really hope it's not terrible. I have heard some not so good things about it, but I am going in with an open mind. I loved the show and have seen every episode, so I owe it to myself to go see the movie. Danny doesn't wanna go, so a few of us are gonna try to have a girl's day out to see it.

Work was a killer this past week. Jorge (our copy guy) was out sick with strep throat. Josh, Cheryl and I stepped up to the plate to help out with his mailers. Boy oh boy...that's not a fun job. The whole week was just stress. I barely had time to get my own work done, and since we were closing at 1:00 on Friday, it put even more pressure on us - especially when people put mailers in at 12:30 that need to go out urgently. Not cool. Lazy...just plain lazy.

So anyway...tomorrow we are going to the Cajun Festival in Simi Valley. Danny's company has some generators there, so he is working at the festival to make sure everything is running smoothly. I told him I would come by and we could eat some crawfish and shrimp. Yummm. I hope it warms up a bit tomorrow so we can enjoy the day. This is some serious earthquake weather we're having. Don't say I didn't warn ya.

Such Strange Weather We're Having

I am totally convinced that the weather has something to do with people's moods. Last week, everyone was acting really weird and bitchy, and now all of a sudden, everything is back to normal. It's just kinda bizarre. I dunno...Maybe it's just all my imagination. But I am gonna pretend that the weather had something to do with it. Play along, k?

Today I got my bikini and my dress from Victoria's Secret. I ordered the dress for the Saturn Awards this year, but it was on backorder for the past month. Since I wanted to stand out at this year's show, I ordered this really pretty red dress with rhinestone straps. I look a little dumpy in it, but with the right shoes, hair, makeup and a really good pair of Spanx to hold in my gut, I think I can pull it off. Although, I do think my arms need a bit of toning. Maybe I will start doing some push-ups to get them a little less on the old jewish lady side and more on the crazy mom from Terminator side (aka Sarah Conner). Doubt it'll happen like that though. We'll see. Anyway, back to my order. I also got a black bikini with a rhinestone skull and crossbones on the left boob and on the tush. I have wanted this bikini for a couple of years, so I decided to splurge and order it. Yay. I love it. Now I wanna order the Anchors Away bikini. Maybe next paycheck.

Other than that...work seems to be getting better. Not as bad as last week. Glad the weather is cooling down a bit. I never really enjoy getting $400 electric bills...so the cooler weather every now and then is nice. At least it lets me turn my a/c off for a few days. And that about sums it all up. Not too interesting, I know. But hey...I live a pretty boring life. =)

Yaaaaawn

Even though I didn't do much today, I am exhausted. I am having my hair done at 3:30, which I am very happy about. It's only been about 3 1/2 months since my last hair appointment, so I think it's about time. I plan on going alot blonder and cutting a couple inches off. Pics to follow, eventually. The only thing I am not looking forward to is sitting in the salon for 3-3 1/2 hours. But it's so worth it when you're all finished.

Oh! I also bought tickets to see Russell Brand perform at the Roxy on June 1st. Ya know...the guy who played Aldous Snow in "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" (see video below). Can't wait for that. I fell asleep, but he seemed to enjoy it. I thought it would be funny, but it was actually kinda boring. Oh well. I bought Superbad and Sweeney Todd at Blockbuster. They had a big table full of previously viewed DVD's. 2 for $20. Can't beat that deal. Blah! I called and registered for it, since I'm not one for breaking the law. I am on call for the week of June 16th. I hope I don't get selected, seeing as my boss pays for zero days of jury duty. Hopefully they will take that into consideration.

Tomorrow I am supposed to be getting my tax rebate. Danny and I are going to see Andrew "Dice" Clay at the Canyon Club with my dad and my uncle. I love Andrew Dice Clay, so I am definitely looking forward to that. Should be a good time. We have to get there early for dinner and to get a table, or it's standing room only. Since I am not one for standing, we opted for a long evening of sitting and waiting for the show to start. So, we'll be there at 5:30 and the show starts at 9:00. We'll need to make sure to chew very slowly. Hehehe.

Anyway, I am drained right now. So, we finally have a vacation booked. It's actually been booked for about 2 weeks, but I didn't feel like sharing it until now.

We're going on a 7 night cruise to Cabo, Mazatlan and Puerto Vallarta on Royal Caribbean. We leave September 14th. I have been on this cruise a couple of times, but only on Carnival, so I am excited to go on a different cruise line. Danny has never been before, so I am excited for him to see what cruising is like. I personally love it.

Anyway...there is a counter on the side of the page counting down to our trip. I woke up in a pretty good mood, didn't have to sit in too much traffic going to work and everything seemed to be on the up and up. My day was going fine until right around lunch time. For some reason, things just kept bothering me. I don't want to get into too much detail, but whatever happened today put me in a bad mood. Unfortunately, I haven't really been able to get out of it since this afternoon.

I dunno...I guess I am just tired of seeing the same people every single day at work. My 7 year work anniversary is in September and I just feel like I have hit the point of being done with it. Luckily, I am going on a nice vacation in September, so that is something to look forward to. Seven years, not so much. It's really hard to explain how I am feeling. But, I know that this isn't what I want to do with the rest of my life. I just really can't see myself doing this for much longer. It's the same thing everyday. Get to work at 8:45, go to the accounting department at 9:30 to file and pull invoices, at 10:00 I start doing data entry (this could take awhile depending on the time of the month), go to lunch at 11:30, come back and type letters or newsletters or whatever else there is to do. It's just SO monotonous. Maybe I should take a few days off to clear my head before I do something I regret. I guess that's something to think about.

Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day. I just know that if I feel the same way tomorrow - something definitely needs to change.

Can't Think of a Title

Well, we just endured another VERY hot weekend and survived the heat. At least there was some wind today; although, it just seemed to be blowing the hot air around.

I was bad and broke Passover on Friday afternoon. I know, I know...in my last post I was very determined to keep it for the whole time. However, I walked by Mrs. Field's Cookies in the mall during our lunch break on Friday and I swear my nostrils dragged me over there and I was forced to buy a milk chocolate macadamia nut cookie (actually, it was 2...but shhhhhh). Maybe I'll be able to keep Passover the entire time next year.

We went for dinner with Ryan & Suzanne last night to some italian restaurant in Beverly Hills with a really beautitul patio. It was so warm and nice outside all night long. The bugs in the planter were a little bit gross...but the food was pretty good and the company was nice.

Today was a very mellow day for us. Had some lunch at the T.O. Meat Locker and then went to see Forgetting Sarah Marshall. I really liked that movie. It was alot funnier than I anticipated. Next up...Baby Mamma. Maybe next weekend we'll see that one. After the movie, we went to dinner at Latigo Kid with Danny's parents. Yummmm...I love that place. It's funny cause I didn't really care for it when I lived in Agoura when I was younger. Now I crave the food there.

Passover & Other Things

I am very proud of myself. I have managed to keep Passover thus far. Only a couple more days to go. I am determined to keep Passover this year, no matter what!! It's a gard thing to do, since I LOVE everthing carbs. It's funny how I want bread, pasta, etc...more than ever when I can't have it. Funny how that works.

I am very happy that I don't have anything planned for this weekend. After last weekend, I need some serious down time. We'll probably go see Forgetting Sarah Marshall or Baby Mamma. Either one looks good to me. I just wanna relax, hang out and veg all weekend - and that's exactly what I plan on doing!

Yesterday was Secretary's Day. My office manager, Cheryl, got me flowers. I thought that was very sweet of her. Dolores got me a gift card to the mall and a balloon, and Marinel gave me flowers as well. Tammy took Jorge, Gloria and myself to lunch. It would have been nice if my actual boss did something to show his appreciation...but, I guess he is preoccupied with some other stuff going on. Oh well. At least a few people showed some love to the correspondence secretary. =)

I Survived!

Yes, I survived the hectic weekend I was talking about in my last post. Barely.

I made it through all of the activities that were planned for this weekend and now I am so not ready to go back to work tomorrow. Friday's birthday party for Jacob was very nice. Yummy persian food too! Calista's baby shower on Saturday was alot of fun. I met Tammy (a co-worker) at her place and we went together. However, we almost got in quite the car accident on the way there. Some jackass decided he wanted to pull out and make a left as we were coming down the street. It's a good thing nobody was driving next to us or there would have been a serious accident. The guy would have been a pancake, and I probably would have gotten an airbag in the face. So, that shook us up a little bit. But, it was nice to see some of my co-workers out of the work place at the shower. We played some cute baby shower games, had some lunch and just sat around talking. Of course, conversation always leads back to work stuff. It's funny how that works out.

The Passover sedar on Saturday evening at Fromin's was the usual disgusting meal that it always is. Dry brisket and lots of senior citizens. It's weird...a few years ago, there were like 25 family members in our party. Last night there were about 14. It's sad that the family is breaking apart. My cousins don't really participate in anything with us anymore and there is just a lot of tension between certain people in my family. I know that next year there will probably be even fewer people, seeing as my uncle Murray has serious heart disease and won't go for an angiogram. I fear he won't be around much longer. It makes me sad.

After dinner, we went to my dad's place for about an hour, since we had to kill some time before we went to meet everyone at The Huntley Hotel for Devin's birthday get together. We got there at around 9:30 p.m. and met up with Jason & Alexis. We sat at the table they reserved and waited for everyone else to arrive. The place was actually really nice. It's the restaurant/ultra lounge called The Penthouse. Jamie Kennedy was there (big deal, right?). But the atmosphere was pretty cool. We were just so exhausted by that point, it was hard to stop myself from yawning all night long. We wound up leaving at around 12:30 a.m. and then headed home. I can't believe I used to stay out til 2:00 a.m. like 3 or 4 nights a week a few years ago. I have no idea how I did that. It's almost impossible for me to stay up until 10. I guess getting older will do that to you. At least that's what getting older does to me.

Today was a mellow day for me. I slept until 12:30 p.m., which I haven't done for quite a long time. But, I think I really needed the sleep. I went with Danny and his family to his cousin Jordon's house for a Passover sedar tonight. I found the afikoman and won $20. Heh...I'm such a kid. :-)

Busy Busy Busy

Oy vey, this weekend is gonna be a super busy one for me. Let's see...I have Jacob's 4th birthday party/dinner tomorrow night right after work. Then I have Calista's baby shower from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, followed by Passover dinner at 5:30 p.m. at Fromin's in Santa Monica (BARF!!!!), and then we're all going out for Devin's birthday to some bar or something. I may be able to relax a little bit during the day on Sunday, and then we're going to Jordon's house for Passover dinner.

To say the least, this will be a non-stop weekend. We went for lunch to the Farm of Beverly Hills in the Topanga Mall. Good food there. Once we finished up lunch, we headed back to Jessi's parent's house to put Sara into her little bathing suit and take her for a dip in the baby pool that they set up for her. She didn't seem to like that idea too much. Although, she did look very cute in her little blue and white polkadot bathing suit. See how cute she is?!? I don't remember the last time it was 90 something degrees in April. Tomorrow is going to be no better. Another very hot day in the Valley. I mean, I guess I don't really mind it THAT much, but still...a few degrees cooler would be nice. Especially when you get that nice stomach and cleavage sweat going on. Blech. I really hate that. Ya know, like when you stand up and have that pretty line of sweat going across your shirt so everyone knows your sweating. That's always my favorite.

Today was a pretty mellow day. I took my car in for servicing this morning. The guy who works at the dealership tried to sell me $300 worth of services I didn't need. So, I told him I couldn't afford it. He then told me thats it's something I should consider saving up for. Yeah, ok. That's the first thing I would totally save up for - my fuel injector being cleaned out. Cause I am not trying to save up for a cruise or anything. I have my priorities, and spending $300 on my under mileage car that runs perfectly and that I am turning in next year when the lease is up isn't one of them at the moment.

Tonight we had a dinner for Andi's birthday (Danny's mom). Rachel (Danny's sister), made delicious chicken picatta, some mushrooms (which I don't eat, but they looked good), and some other stuff. I helped with the salad, which came out pretty nice if I do say so myself. She and Danny made a chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream frosting. So good!

Anyway, I think I am going to watch some 90210 that I have TiVo'd. That's my guilty pleasure. I record 2 episodes from SoapNet every day during the week, and then watch them when I get home; however, I have 1 episode that I haven't had a chance to watch yet. I am up to the episodes when Valerie moves into the Walsh house. Sooooo, yeah. I know I am a dork.

Try to stay hydrated and keep cool in this crazy weather we are having. Since I don't have much time during the work day to check my blogs, read my e-mail, etc...and since we are not allowed to go on Myspace at work, I usually only have a good 20 minutes or so to do this in the morning.

Well, anyway...when I logged into my account this morning, there was one message in my inbox. The subject simply read, "Dani." That's all. I looked at who it was from and I got a weird lump in my throat. I opened the e-mail and it was an apology from my ex-boyfriend. Now, we haven't spoken for a good 4 1/2 years or so. Naturally, I thought this was really weird. I forwarded the email to Dan (my boyfriend), since I pretty much tell him everything. I also called my best friend, Jessi and told her about it. Jessi knows my ex very well and knows everything he put me through. After all, we met through her lame ass ex-boyfriend. I was really uneasy about the e-mail, because there are so many things I have wanted to say to this person about how much of an asshole he was while we were dating. He was not a very nice person back then. It was almost as if I was a glutton for punishment and enjoyed being treated like crap. I spent 4 years of my life trying to make this person care about me, and it never seemed to work.

I have moved on with my life and I am very happy with how it has turned out so far. Granted, there are a few things that could be a little different, but that's not the point. I replied to his e-mail when I got home from work. Short, but sweet. I didn't go the route of being a bitch and telling him off. I simply thanked him for his apology, told him that I am enjoying life and everything was great, and that I hope things are good with him too. I feel good knowing that I got the apology I have been waiting for for so long.

And, that's pretty much all.

My First Post

Welcome to my new blog! This is my first post on this site. I used to have a website with an online journal about 7 years ago (I'd like to think I was ahead of my time), but this is a much nicer way to blog.

Anyway...I am home sick right now, which is the main reason I started this blog. Simply out of sheer boredom.

I don't know how often I will update this thing, but I will try to do it whenever I feel the urge to spill my guts or just ramble on about complete nonsense.

Well, thats all for now.
